I just wanted to thank you all for the vision, work and care that you have put into establishing and maintaining Seneca Sailing Academy! When I first enrolled the boys in the camp at 6 and 8 years old it, my hope was for them to learn something new and it to be an active outdoor activity… and honestly to get them out of my hair for a few hours a week. I had no expectation of outcomes, nor did I expect one of them to find one of their life passions. Kyle chose to go to college at Northeastern for many reason, but knowing they had a sailing team was the icing on the cake. He knew there were no guarantees and that even though it was a club team, it would be difficult to make the team. After a competitive tryout, he was thrilled to make the team a few weeks ago. Being on the team has provided him with a social group, physical activity while in a competitive academic environment and a feeling of calm in a busy city. His comments to me after his first practice were “mom, it just felt so good to be out on the water!” Sailing is truly a passion for him and one that I know will be lifelong. One of a parents’ greatest joys and hopes is for their child to do what they love. Thank you for providing this for my son and taking him under your wing! It is so cool and amazing to see the caliber of sailors our little yacht club produces. It is because of all your hard work, dedication, commitment, and willingness to adopt my son for weekends. You are such a great group of people! Love to you all!
I just wanted to send a note to say “kudos” to the Seneca Sailing Academy Crew on a job well done with their summer program this year. Given the COVID crisis, I was just thrilled that sailing instruction was even offered. My son thoroughly enjoyed his sailing experience …especially the private instruction lessons with Rye. Jamie can be quite shy & quiet, but he really felt comfortable with Rye & learned a lot. I cannot say enough about Rye…he would meet me everyday when I would pick up Jamie to review what he taught Jamie for the day. Rye is an excellent instructor & we hope to see him in the future at Seneca Sailing Academy. If you are considering adding more private instruction lessons for the month of August we will definitely be interested! Thank you again to all of the staff!
Registration is done on a first registered, first served basis. The number of spaces is determined by the safety needs of students and generally cannot be increased in order to accommodate late registrations. Caps this year are around 12 for Opti week and Advanced Sailors Week and 15 for Adventure weeks. Once we reach enrollment limits, waiting lists will be generated. Still, there is often flux as plans change, so do not lose heart.
SSA program costs are determined by the costs of providing quality instruction and equipment.
Payment – Payment is made through Active, our registration vendor.
