Splash, Paddle, and Sail

Connecting with Seneca Lake, connecting with the environment, connecting with fun! Join us for some water play, learn a little about paddle craft (kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards) and a little about sailing – and then maybe come back for the camp. These 1/2 day sessions for children ages 7 to 17 are fun, unstructured, safe play time on the water.

Splash, Paddle, and Sail

SPS sessions are 1/2 day water play opportunities. These free, half-day camps help children unused to boating get comfortable splashing and playing in Seneca Lake. The program runs July 18-23 and hosts children ages 7-17 in half-day morning and afternoon experiences. Registration is required.

“Splash, Paddle and Sail” will introduce children to sailing via water-based recreation and introductory boating activities. Kids registered for a half-day session will “splash” around in the lake and “paddle” in various non-powered watercraft, including rowboats, canoes kayaks, paddleboards and small sailboats. By paddling around and experimenting with wind power, children will gain knowledge and confidence being in and on the water. Basic water safety and environmental information will be integrated, and each session of Splash, Paddle and Sail will be supervised by staff and volunteers certified in water safety.

Donations help defray the cost of this program…. any size gifts are gratefully accepted. (But not required!)

SPS is made possible by a generous grant from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation
